2022 MAGO 'CHILLABLE' RED WINE
Mago is a light red wine made from a mix of red and white grapes from the magical terroirs of the central coast. The blend changes annually but the concept is the same: to make an aromatic, lightly structured and refreshing red wine. The blend of varieties are all made in slightly different styles in terms of maceration times and the use of stems or without.
Each lot was picked by hand and fermented separately. The Grenache wines were fermented in both whole cluster (60%) and destemmed (40%) lots of around 2 weeks maceration average. The Pinot Noir was destemmed and macerated for 8 days, and the Petit Verdot was destemmed and macerated for 4 days only. Each lot was pressed and racked to tank then barrel for elevage. Blended a month prior to bottling and bottled on June 17th, 2023. Unfined and unfiltered (we coarse filter the lees) and has 25 ppm total SO2.
